Vietnam

Everyone has their personal reasons for traveling….and Vietnam was a special destination I felt I needed to visit.  As far back as several decades, I can remember wanting to travel to Vietnam.  From the first time I saw the 80’s Vietnam war movies, Platoon and Full Metal Jacket I have always been fascinated by this region and wanted to visit.  Mostly I love asian food.  However, there were many reasons that I was drawn to where I am at this very moment.  The most important reason is to extend my hand in friendship and let the people of Vietnam know that I am very sorry for the suffering they experienced at the hands of the United States.  I wanted to apologize.  So I did.  I had a cousin that also died in the “American War”…  The Vietnamese call it the American War.  I was welcomed into this country, regardless of my citizenship or skin color.  If you have the chance…Vietnam is a must visit for any traveler.

I fell in love with the people and the culture and the landscape….I will definitely return soon.
